London Grammar est un groupe de musique britannique formé en 2009 par Hannah Reid (chant), et Daniel Rothman (guitare) qui se rencontrent alors qu’ils sont étudiants à l’Université de Nottingham. Il recherche une troisième personne pour compléter le groupe : Ce sera Dot Major (clavier, percussions), l’aventure peut commencer… ils se produisent alors dans les bars britanniques.
La mise en ligne via les réseaux sociaux du titre « Hey Now » va lancer leur carrière. De clic en clic, cette première chanson atteint plus d’un million d’écoutes.
London Grammar sort un premier EP « Wasting My Young Years » qui rencontre un grand succès, porté par la sublime voix d’Hannah Reid, à la fois froide et puissante, parfaite introduction à leur premier album « If You Wait » sortit le 9 septembre 2013.
Le titre « Wasting My Young Years » est repris lors de l’émission Française « The Voice » diffusée le 22 février 2014 sur Tf1 et se classe en tête des ventes en France dès le lendemain.
